Fitting, and looking after, your REDmarble CabCover.
Firstly , fitting the cover to your car:
You may have noticed the cover is packed in its bag inside out. This is done on purpose to make fitting it easier.
Take the cover out of its bag and sort out the front from the back. This should be quite straight forward as there is a label that says “front”. Don't unroll the cover yet; if you can't see it, then you have the back. Put the cover on the roof of your car, pointing in the right direction, then unroll it. Once unrolled, if the sides haven't dropped down, pull them down and secure at the rear with the elastic strap under your bumper. Make sure mirrors are positioned within the mirror poke-through points, and put your wipers on top of the cover. If your cover has a strap in the centre, this goes under your car and plugs into the buckle on the other side.
To pack the cover back into its bag, simply reverse this procedure by folding the cover inwards first, and then rolling up.
To clean your cover:
Use warm soapy water (washing up liquid is fine), and sponge the cover down. This is most easily done while in place on your car. Don't put it in a washing machine! The fabric treatments will not withstand this. If any oil or grease gets on the cover, a degreaser such as Gunk can be used.
It is best not to cover a dirty car, but if any dirt does get on the underside of the cover, again sponge it off with warm soapy water. Also, if your car is dirty, beware of the cover rubbing the dirt against your paintwork.
Do not cover a car that has been recently re-sprayed and the paint has not been oven baked. Leave for 3 months to allow the curing process and make sure the cover does interfere with this. Likely affects are marbling or blooming of the paintwork if this is not followed. This is not caused by the cover directly but is caused by a lack of airflow interfering with the curing process.
Beware of any sharp points. Unless covered with an old glove or something similar, they are likely to tear the cover.
